    What is permethrin?
Permethrin is a pyrethroid insecticide. Pyrethroids are synthetic analogues of pyrethrins which are naturally occurring substances extracted from Chrysanthemum flowers. Permethrin is a neurotoxin that works by binding to and blocking open sodium channels on the surface of nerve cells. This interferes with nerve function by causing the nerve cells to discharge repetitively.BTW anything natural isnt always safe. This will kill your pet.Its inside cheap flea products.

Thanks for the info Mike, I wish I had have found this about a year ago when my moonflower vine (Ipomoea alba) that I’d been growing in my den got infested after I took it outside to put some liquid fertilizer on it.

About 2 weeks later it was yellow and nearly dead, it was covered in webbing so I took it outside and burned it because the leaves were dying as soon as they came through.

I can tell you first hand to wash your hands if you get the sap on you, even a tiny bit can make you sick.

Mites attach to the underside of the leaf. The stippling is usually white or yellow. You can also check for spider mites by spraying a mist over the plant and you will see the spider webs. The best spider mite killer is a 0.2% pyrethrines. Alternate that with a 1% oil such as neem oil or rosemary oil each week. Spray under the leaf and water your plant well at least 4 hours before hand.
